Welcome Home, America's Heroes - October 2005
Trabuco Hills Cheerleaders welcome Marines and Sailors.
(10/11/05) America's Heroes of Freedom had the privilege of welcoming home from Iraq over two thousand Marines and Sailors and their families at San Onofre Beach on Camp Pendleton.
Some, back from Iraq for less than 2 days, were shuttled to San Onofre Beach for a day of fun for the kids and adults alike, food catered and served with a "thank you for your service to our country", hundreds of raffle prizes from gift baskets to hotel stays, and the comedy from Colin Quinn, Jeff Garcia, and Shayma Tash had our men and women in uniform in stitches.
As they drove down the drive to the event, they were greeted by cheerleaders from Trabuco Hills High School, signs hand-pained with “Welcome Home, America’s Heroes”, and red, white and blue ribbons lining the road.
Throughout the day, as Susan Brewer, president and founder of America’s s Heroes of Freedom emceed the event, volunteers took the time to thank these men and women and their families for a job well done.
The Mayor of San Clemente spoke words of thanks and encouragement to our Heroes, and Senator Bill Morrow and Congressman Duncan Hunter, both unable to attend the event, sent representatives in their place to show their support.
Throughout the day, as hundreds of prizes worth thousands were raffled, children enjoyed hours of fun with the characters from Sea World.

A special thanks to: Duncan Hunter, Rescue Task Force, SAIC, Marriott Courtyard, Staples, Red Bull, San Diego Harley, Sea World, The Arches, Jay's Catering, Richard Platt and Joe Bartholomew, Chris Yates, Cynthia Martinez, and the Trabuco Hills Cheerleaders. AHOF wishes to thank each and every volunteer who gave their best to give the best to those who deserve it most.
