Department of Defense program "America Supports You" - AHOF is honored to be listed on "America's Supports You" - a program launched by the Department of Defense to showcase and communicate American support to the men and women of the Armed Forces.
The Pentagon: Headquarters for the U.S. Department of Defense - The Pentagon, headquarters of the United States Department of Defense and the nerve center for command and control, is virtually a city within itself. The Pentagon presently houses approximately 23,000 military and civilian employees and about 3,000 non-defense support personnel dedicated to protecting our national interests.
Andrews Air Force Base - Andrews Air Force Base is gateway to the nation's capital and home of Air Force One. Injured men and women returning from the theater arrive at Andrews AFB. The 89th Airlift Wing is the host wing to more than 60 separate organizations at Andrews, including units from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard.
The USO (United Services Organization) - The USO's mission is to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to uniformed military Personnel. The original intent of Congress—and enduring style of USO delivery—is to represent the American people by extending a "Touch of Home" to their military members.
Twin Towers Orphans Fund - The Twin Towers Orphan Fund was established on September 13, 2001 to assist the children who were orphaned (who lost one or both parents) by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. TTOF is not a disaster relief fund, but instead is a long-term higher educational and health care support trust fund with a life span of more than 20 years.
The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, Inc. (TAPS) - a national non-profit organization made up of, and providing services to, all those who have lost a loved one while serving in the Armed Forces. The heart of TAPS is a national military survivor peer support network. TAPS also offers grief counseling referral, case worker assistance and crisis information, all available to help families and military personnel cope and recover.
Enduring Light - Enduring Light's mission is to put a candle in every home, on every street, in every neighborhood, every night, year after year, until this War on Terrorism has been won.
