Contact: Susan Brewer 214-789-4505
Bethesda Naval Medical Center, MD – On December 23, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, America’s Heroes of Freedom will honor our hospitalized soldiers with a Christmas party, complete with all the trimmings.
Soldiers are returning from serving overseas as rapidly as they are being deployed. Arriving injured and needing medical attention, often, these soldiers are sent to the local military hospitals that we have locally in the DC-area. During the holidays, these soldiers are in a hospital bed instead of at home celebrating Christmas with their families.
Helping celebrate at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, Colin Quinn, of Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central fame, will appear along with U.S. Congressman Young and his wife and many other dignitaries and special guests, including Mr. and Mrs. Clause and Elvis, played by Michael Hoover, recently voted Best Elvis Impersonator.
At this holiday event, an elegant festive meal will be provided while carolers and Christmas music fill the hallways with the sounds of the season. With generous contributions from Northrop Grumman, Shell Oil Co., White & Partners and many other donors, America’s Heroes of Freedom will present gifts to the hospitalized soldiers and their family members.
America’s Heroes of Freedom is a not-for-profit organization that honors and provides for service members who have acted heroically, patriotically and unselfishly to serve daily in the protection of our freedom. This Christmas party is one of the many ways that they have provided for our soldiers since the organization’s founding in 2002.
